I'm Running The Length of Sumba (215km) to Provide 60,000 School Meals In Indonesia

Story
Inspired by two of my close friends, who set up a foundation after moving to Bali, i'm running the length of Sumba to raise money for a school meals programme that aims to tackle malnutrition and stunted growth - focusing on proper nutrition and meals that increase school attendances. Sumba sits in the province with the highest child stunting rate in Indonesia, a title it's held for almost twenty years. In some communities there, up to 70% of children are stunted. That isn't just about being small. It means a child's brain didn't get the nutrients it needed in the years that matter most, and that damage is largely permanent. Lower cognitive capacity, weaker immune systems, fewer options for life. Not because of anything they did, but because of what they didn't eat. Most of these kids aren't starving in the obvious sense. They walk to school, wear uniforms, sit in classrooms. But many have never eaten a proper meal in their lives, and a hungry child can't learn. They're physically present and cognitively absent. EffortX Foundation is building school kitchens in Sumba, staffed by local people and growing fresh vegetables year round, serving a meal of rice, vegetables, and one egg. For many of these kids, that egg is the only real protein they get all week. It costs less than $1 to feed one child one meal. That's what I'm running for. Every kilometre goes toward getting these kitchens built and these kids fed. We're not trying to set up one school. We want to set up as many as we possibly can, and that comes down to how much we raise right here. I'll do the hard part. The donation is the easy part, and it's the part that counts. Please give what you can, share it, and let's feed as many of these kids as we can.
